J4b launches £160m student funding website | Print |  Email to a friend
Thursday, 28 August 2008
Cheshire-based j4b has launched what it claims to be “the UK's most comprehensive student funding website” with a new portal that gives information on more than 3,000 government grants, industrial sponsorships, educational trusts and university bursaries.

Cheshire-based j4b has launched what it claims to be “the UK's most comprehensive student funding website” with a new portal that gives information on more than 3,000 government grants, industrial sponsorships, educational trusts and university bursaries.
In total Studentcashpoint.co.uk gives students, many of whom only received their A-level results last week, the rundown on more than £160m of potential funding – a considerable boost in the current climate of rising student debt.

Along with a series of web 2.0 and community features Studentcashpoint also allows users to compare the amount of funding available at different universities, allowing them to see where they can study if they’re looking to minimise their potential debts.

It covers all UK universities and colleges, also featuring industrial sponsorships from companies such as JCB, Ernst and Young and Astra Zeneca.

Talking about the need for the site, which launched just this week, company director Jeremy Phillips said: "Before studentcashpoint.co.uk, UK students would need to navigate through any number of websites to discover grant opportunities.  It was a complicated process - and needlessly so.

"Now, with studentcashpoint.co.uk, common sense has prevailed.  Students can search our user-friendly up-to-date database and discover a range of funding options in minutes. We hope the website will make a real difference when it comes to the burden of student debt."

The information on www.studentcashpoint.co.uk will be updated by a dedicated research team, rather than by funding bodies themselves or third parties.
