Paul Yates, the internet entrepreneur who made millions out of selling his Just Search firm, has made what is said to be a “significant cash injection” into Macclesfield-based promotional goods supplier Promotions81.
Yates, who is still CEO of Just Search, has become chairman of the board as a result and will now help the firm push out from its traditional health and fitness sector (it currently provides services to eight out of ten of the top private fitness chains) into the wider leisure market. Yates: Just minted The current MD of Promotions81, Chris Cope, will retain his position.Yates said in an official statement from the firm that he is now looking to provide “advice and resources” to the company as it pushes forwards with its expansion. He added that this was “a new challenge for me and one I'm very much looking forward to." When How-Do reported on Yates’ sale of Just Search to Getupdated it was noted that he and his brother, who co-founded the firm, made £8.8m from the deal. According to the publicity from Promotions81, however, that figure was actually £14m. Either way it gives Yates more than enough resources for this “significant cash injection.” www.justsearching.co.uk Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
