Liverpool agencies Apposing, Tokyo Digital and Citrus Suite have developed apps for three of this autumn's biggest creative events in the city: the MOBO Awards, Liverpool Biennial arts festival and the Liverpool Design Festival.
The app for last week’s MOBO Awards, held at the Echo Arena, was created by Tokyo Digital while Apposing and Citrus Suite have respectively developed apps for this year’s Biennial Arts and Design Festivals.
The Liverpool Design Festival, which starts on Thursday 18 November and runs through to Saturday 27 November, features exhibitions, fashion shows, films and seminars and the organisers, Liverpool-based Design Initiative are hoping to attract around 80,000 visitors this year.
Design Festival project manager Elaine Caldwell said: ‘It makes sense to use a design icon, such as the iPhone, to spread the message about contemporary design.
“The app adds exciting dimensions to our campaign, and will allow a large section of our audience to keep up to speed with the festival programme by simply tapping a screen.”
The Biennial Arts festival opened on 18 September and runs through to 28 November and the app for this festival was released by Apposing last month. The agency has also won the work to create apps for a new clothing range, Pretty Green, fronted by former Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher.
Tokyo Digital, the agency behind the MOBO app, was established in August this year as an off-shoot from Liverpool agency Switch Media.
