Following on from the announcement that Manchester is due to host its second fundraising gathering of all Twitterers great and small, comes the news that Liverpool is matching its neighbour with its very own Twestival this Thursday.
The city will be playing host to its micro-blogging community at the Leaf Tea Shop and Bar on 10 September - giving Twitter fans the chance to meet, socialise and be entertained, while also raising much-needed money for chosen charity Clatterbridge Cancer Research.
Attendees at the Twestival - the city's second such event - will be entertained by performers such as musician Danny Morris and magician Dan Burgess.
They will also be able to take part in auctions and raffles, with prizes donated by local firms such as Paver Smith and Yaffe Photography.
Mandy Phillips is organising the shindig. You can find out more here or by following @lpooltwestival on Twitter.
