Car retail giant Lookers, one of a coterie of North West-based FTSE listed companies, yesterday re-launched its website in an effort to supplement its showroom business and drive more sales online.
The new site, designed and built by Photolink Creative Group, aims to give consumers a clear and easily navigable online experience, allowing customers to research individual cars and, for the first time, search by brand. In addition to this a bespoke content management system gives Lookers the ability to manage its constantly changing car database – which usually consists of some 6,000 individual vehicles. When cars do drive out of the database a new enquiry management system also tracks each sale through from initial email or phone call to purchase. The information gleaned from this will then be used for future e-marketing campaigns, also handled by Manchester’s Photolink. Tina Ashurst, Lookers head of internet sales, claimed that the online side of the business was outperforming all expectations and would continue to do so with the help of the refreshed site. The site registered 25,000 unique enquiries last year and, with the combination of online and showroom sales generated through the web, Lookers hopes to shift 17,000 units through 2008. Photolink, which employs 90 staff in its Ardwick Green offices, also works with clients of the order of River Island, Chelsea FC, Argos and Kangol. www.lookers.co.uk www.photolink.co.uk Something to add?
