How-Do is delighted to announce that it has managed to secure the services of several leading communications experts from across the UK to address the issue of ‘Managing Reputations Online’ at a seminar on Tuesday 4 June.
How-Do is delighted to present several leading communications experts from across the UK who will address the issue of ‘Managing Reputations Online’ at a seminar on Wednesday 4 June.

The comprehensive session will also offer attendees participation in the Q&A session and afterwards the opportunity to join the speakers and fellow attendees to discuss further key issues over lunch.

The event is being held at the offices of TBWA\Manchester. A social media specialist from the agency will also be contributing to the session.

With the explosion in digital and in particular social media, managing your company’s or organisation’s reputation online requires an equal degree of TLC as traditional reputation management. Companies large and small, are discovering that their brands can become susceptible to large scale negative or adverse publicity online in a matter of hours. How can and should you cope, prevent or manage such explosions in your business life? And equally, how can you grasp the nettle and create opportunities for your organisation?

To help clarify and explain the issues, How-Do has drawn together five highly experienced practitioners for a rare gathering of this quality outside London – and at a fraction of the price!

The four guest speakers at the session will be:

  • Keely Flint, chief information architect, BUPA
  • Craig McGinty, professional blogger and online commentator
  • Martin Cozens, director of Affinities & Partnerships, Latitude
  • Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk


Russ Brady, head of corporate affairs for Co-operative Financial Services will be joining the panel for the Q&A concluding session together with a digital specialist from TBWA\Manchester.

Tickets for this compelling session cost just £60 (plus vat) with refreshments and lunch included. To attend the event, please email nick@how-do.co.uk stating the number of tickets required. Please note there is a capacity limit of 50 attendees and we envisage tickets going fast – so it’s first come, first served.

The event will start at 10.30 (coffee from 10am) on Wednesday 4 June. The Q&A session will start around 11.45 and lunch will be available around 12.30.

Keely Flint is chief information architect at BUPA and an enthusiastic blogger. Under Flint, BUPA has used social bookmarking software to make its library of information resources available across shared networks. She moved to healthcare from the publishing industry and is a regular public speaker on Web 2.0 implementation, examining the potential costs as well as benefits for organisations in adopting such a solution

Craig McGinty
makes money by writing blogs and has garnered an enviable reputation as a digital commentator. In fact he works 10 or 12 hours a day running eight blogs and earns his crust through advertising and affiliate schemes. The former Lancashire Evening Telegraph journalist believes the internet now allows small businesses to promote themselves more effectively, ensuring their voice is heard and so building long lasting relationships with clients.

Cozens
Martin Cozens is director of affinities and partnerships at Latitude, one of the world's largest and longest established digital marketing agencies.  Prior to Latitude, Martin worked at a new media agency in the 1990s, surviving the dot.com boom and bust before migrating to the search marketing industry in 2003.  Martin has occupied senior roles within client delivery at Latitude and more recently is leading the partnership team in business development. He has a breadth of experience in search marketing and was instrumental in establishing brand name protection in the search engine landscape for FTSE 100 companies such as Alliance & Leicester. Latitude’s turnover is £30m plus and it employs over 100 people at its offices in London and Warrington.

Gareth Robinson
is managing director and co-founder (in 2003) of Carrentals.co.uk, a price comparison website that arranges low cost car hire in more than 4,000 locations worldwide. The former IT specialist with Barclays and NatWest helped build the £20m turnover business totally online, through web analytics, blogs and forums. Unlike other meta search engine comparison sites, which use pay per click (PPC) revenue models, Carrentals.co.uk uses a commission per acquisition (CPA) model, which it says provides a fairer service to car hire providers and better prices for customers. It is now one of the UK's leading online car hire companies having recently booked its 200,000th customer. Gareth previously managed his own engineering firm for five years.

Russ Brady
is head of corporate affairs for Co-operative Financial Services, which operates under the brands of Co-operative Insurance, Bank, Investments and the internet bank smile.  In his ten years within the Co-operative Group Russ has held a number of senior communications roles most recently as head of group PR.  Prior to joining The Co-operative, Russ was head of PR for Guardian Royal Exchange which he joined in 1988 as a management trainee.

Don't prejudge. Ms Flint is a very clever lady administering a budget that runs into several millions of pounds a year.

I always cringe when I see this photo! - however through it lives on the memory of a dear friend and great photographer who sadly died of cancer last year. Therefore I,m always happy to see it used.
