Manchester Airport is launching a viral game in an effort to promote its enhanced retail proposition.
Airport retail taking off The transport hub has been boosted by an £80m investment in its shopping and terminal facilities and is now looking to make as many potential customers aware of its champagne, perfume and electronics wares as possible. To achieve this aim it is looking to Swindon’s Inbox Digital, which has created an online game offering a family holiday to Los Angeles as the main prize. The game is to be hosted on the airport’s main site and on a number of travel and regional portals, with users being driven to it through an ad campaign on Facebook. It is being used to capture data and actively encourages players to send it on, thus spreading the campaign. Patrick Alexander, head of retail marketing and brand at Manchester Airport, said of the initiative: "This is only our second viral campaign, it's still very new to us. “But so far we're seeing it allows us to reach an audience we couldn't before." http://www.inbox.co.uk/ Something to add?
