As the property industry prepares to descend on Cannes for this year’s MIPIM, Paver Smith has launched a mobile app to help North West delegates survive in the networking jungle.
More than 19,000 property professionals are expected on the French coast in March and the agency’s Dougal Paver, felt that after eleven years of “blisters, chapped lips, sore kidneys and lack of sleep” (How-Do opted not to delve further), it was time to create a mobile survival guide:
“I’ve acquired all the scar tissue there is to gather at MIPIM, from chapped lips to sun burnt noses and more. All were avoidable with a bit of planning so I thought I’d share my hard-earned wisdom with fellow property professionals.”
The app, created by Liverpool's Glow New Media, is available for the iPhone, Blackberry and Android offers a “crash course” in Cannes, including taxi phone numbers, addresses for dry cleaners, in fact (and we quote): “from condoms to kebabs, dry cleaners to those elusive taxis, the free app covers it all.” There’s even an area dedicated to French bouncers and bureaucracy in an intriguing section entitled: The French, God love ‘em.
Next year the app will include interactive maps “and other innovations.”
