Digital agency New Mind has succeeded in picking up another lucrative e-tourism contract, with the news that the Liverpool-based team has won the brief to completely overhaul Brighton and Hove’s online offering.
Going places: New Mind
New Mind has enjoyed considerable success to date with its ‘destination management system’ (DMS), working to create sites such as www.visitbristol.co.uk, www.visitbath.co.uk and www.visitliverpool.com .

It will now set about a five year project to create and refine the visitbrighton.com site, using the portal as, in its own words, “the vanguard of their marketing effort to position the city as a cosmopolitan, free thinking and creative visitor destination.”

Once finished – it is scheduled to appear in November - the site should boast enquiry tools, dynamic mapping, online booking systems and itinerary planners.

New Mind MD Richard Veal said that he was “delighted” to come through a European tender process to collect the brief, adding: “It’s now seven years since we developed the initial DMS prototype and today it’s a global play technology with organisations in other countries looking to utilise the system to promote their destinations.”

It is hoped that the new site will provide a major boost to the area’s tourism sector, which currently brings in £400m and supports around 13,000 jobs a year.
