How-Do readers that have been following the story of Michael Welch, the former head of Digital Industries North West, will be eager to see if he turns up at Warrington Magistrates Court today… following his no-show in December.
Welch is due in court at 10am to answer one count of fraud and two of concealing criminal property, after allegedly obtaining what is said to be £440,000 from the NWDA. His former partner Anne Hunt is also due to appear as co-defendant, answering to two charges of concealing criminal property.
However, after his last no-show in December there is no guarantee the elusive ‘self-made millionaire’ will put in a much-anticipated appearance.
If he does appear, and the investigation continues as expected, Welch’s case will soon graduate to the Crown Court due to the scale of the fraud charge.
