The Manchester office of digital outfit Reading Room has muscled in alongside a coterie of non-North West agencies to secure part of Leeds University’s new seven-figure design brief, How-Do can reveal.
The agency was one of 36 other firms battling it out for a chance to provide ‘design and web design services’ to the institution, entering into a supplier agreement that will last at least two years, and possibly four if extended. Reading Room was the only agency from the region to succeed in securing a place on the nine-strong roster of firms and will now sit alongside London’s Appetite, Blue River from Newcastle, Elmwood, Sheffield’s Rare Creative Group, Room for Design, WPA Pinfold and Smith Creative of Newcastle. In other news at the agency, Reading Room has also announced that it is opening an on-line recruitment division to build careers websites. This will be headed up by Chris Skinner, who joins from specialist recruitment agency Barkers, and will look to take advantage of the huge proportion of online advertising spend (in excess of 25 per cent) that is apportioned to recruitment. www.readingroom.com Something to add?
