Regional Trinity Mirror titles turn to monetised mobile searching

Trinity Mirror has appointed Mobile Commerce to implement monetised mobile searches across its regional sites - including Liverpool Echo and Daily Post.

Regional Trinity Mirror titles turn to monetised mobile searchingThe search engine sits in their new mobile pages and gives the publisher revenue each time a user clicks on an advertising listing.

Mobile Commerce sets up the search results which are part natural, part sponsored links.

"To play a part in this rollout by Trinity Mirror, Britain’s biggest newspaper group, is very exciting for us," said Mobile Commerce CEO, Steve Page.

"Monetising their push into multiplatform shows exactly what Mobile Commerce can do for publishers. It’s further proof of the growing market for mobile and mobile search, as consumers increasingly demand their content on a mobile platform."

The publisher also gets user data which shows what is being searched for, origin of the search and time it took place. Statistics also show whether the sponsored link was clicked or not.

Currently 13 Trinity Mirror regional titles have mobile sites.
