A new online information system for South Yorkshire public transport will be developed by digital agency Rippleffect.
The aim of the website is to improve communication between Travel South Yorkshire and passengers, who can register for updates and real time bus and tram timetables.
In addition to email, customers can also get postal subscriptions.
Emailed delays "The system works in synchronisation with enquiries that come into the SYPTE Traveline call centre. Every step of our development has had to consider the high volume of traffic to the site and the need for tailored information for customers," explained Alec Woolford, technical director at Rippleffect. "This is part of our ongoing commitment to improve the information available to public transport users,” said David Brown, director general of South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE). "We believe that the appointment of Rippleffect will provide us with a massive boost as they have a track record of delivering visually engaging and easily navigable sites." "This could ultimately reduce our carbon footprint and generate cost savings which we can plough back into our front line services." Rippleffect was founded in 1999 by Ben Hatton and acquired in 2008 by Trinity Mirror. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
