Rippleffect has marked the inception of a new 12 month contract with Visit Leeds by creating a viral marketing campaign to drive visitors to the www.yourfestiveleeds.com website.
Leeds: increased Xmas presence
The Liverpool-based team targeted 40,000 inboxes with the push, giving recipients the chance to win activity weekends in the city, while providing an in-depth data capture tool for the local tourism body.
Respondents were encouraged to answer questions that would help shape their individual 'Leeds personality' and then received advice on where to eat, sleep and visit whilst in the city.
Jo Farrington of Visit Leeds said of the initiative: "This is the first email marketing game we have undertaken and have high hopes that it will meet our objectives of driving traffic to our new Festive Leeds website, capturing new data for our use and raising the profile of Leeds as a contemporary city."
