A night of very mixed fortunes for the North West's proud protagonists at last week's British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) awards - with one agency celebrating rich pickings, while our other regional contenders travelled home from London laden only with hangovers and thoughts of what they'll have to conjure up in 2010 to 'do a Stardotstar'.
Sds: in tune with the BIMAs The awards evening - arguably the most prestigious on the national online calendar - turned into the biggest BIMAs yet, with 37 awards, 30% more entries than last year and 700 people attending the do at the swanky KOKO in Camden.Champagne was the order of the evening for the team at Manchester's Stardotstar, which proved it is turning into something of a specialist at this scheme (they have plenty of previous form), by nabbing two awards for its Things to Come project for Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. The agency added to its 'sound design' and 'offline' prizes by also securing a runner's up spot in the visual design category. Despite high hopes and well received endeavours from Reading Room and Matmi, the two firms failed to grab gongs for their Dulwich Picture Gallery site and Monster Pinball application, also joining the runners up rank. In addition social media blogger Paul Fabretti missed out on the publicly voted best blog award, which went the way of acclaimed design site FormFiftyFive. www.bimaawards.com Something to add?
