Ten Alps is continuing its expansion into the Asian market with the news that the factual media firm is now set to launch Teachers TV in Thailand.
Global plans The business, which earlier this week confirmed the purchase of ten Singapore-based magazine titles, has agreed a partnership deal that will see Teachers TV offering consultancy and training to a new Thai channel. It will also provide much of the programming for the digital channel and website, with its UK productions broadcast with Thai subtitles. A launch date of April has been earmarked for the start of transmissions, with a full channel and web launch scheduled for the autumn. Andrew Bethell, chief executive of Teachers TV, has also confirmed that Ten Alps is looking to roll the model out into further new territories. He commented: "The interest does not stop with Thailand; we have a partnership with the Channel Thirteen in New York to develop a similar service and the proposal is currently being considered by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation." www.tenalps.com Something to add?
