The University of Salford is claiming to be the first institution to create an ‘online open day’ for its law school, thus “recreating the experience of the traditional university visit, whilst cutting out the need to travel.”
Salford's evolution continues Housed in a standalone microsite, the open day resource features interviews with lecturers and students, video tours of facilities and details of upcoming events and relevant courses. It is based on a traditional open day format and allows prospective students to sample the University before embarking, if they so desire, on a visit of a more tangible nature. Professor Alistair Alcock, head of Salford Law School, explained the thinking behind the initiative: “The online open day allows us to reach a much wider audience than we have before. As a new law school, we want to continue to be cutting-edge, and projects like this enable us to do so.” Seveer Media created the website for Salford, which can be seen at http://www.law.salford.ac.uk/openday/ Something to add?
