The Warburton’s site that Manchester agency Love was in the process of building has now gone live – signalling the start of the competition to find the best picnic spots in the UK.
As previously reported on How-Do, the site has been created to help raise interest in the baker’s products in the run-up to National Bread Week (5 to 11 May). Fancy a sandwich? The chief driver for achieving this appears to be a competition to find the UK’s favourite picnic spots, with visitors to the site voting in regional heats prior to a national final. A £1000 bursary towards the maintenance of the winning site will be made by Warburton’s, with each regional winner receiving £500. The NWDA, quick to spot the tourist potential of the competition, has helped with the ten nominations for the region. They are: Stanley Park in Blackpool, Lyme Park in Cheshire, Heaton Park in Manchester, Formby Beach in Merseyside, Beeston Castle in Cheshire, Fell Foot Park in Ulverston, Crook of Lune in Lancaster, Beacon Fell near Preston, Jumbles Reservoir in Bolton and Barley Picnic site by Pendle Hill in Lancashire. The overall winner of the competition will also receive a specially made plaque to ensure that all visitors are well aware that they are picnicking in the best spot in the UK. To vote in the contest, and potentially win a trip to New York, follow the trial of crumbs to... www.welovebread.co.uk The North West regional winner will be announced on 2 June. Something to add?
