Wilde leaves Mando for Interactive Dimension in Preston

Mando has bade farewell to its strategic account director Jonny Wilde, who has left the Liverpool-based digital outfit to take on the same role at Preston's Interactive Dimension.

Wilde only joined Mando last year, as one of three senior appointments at the time, but has taken the decision to move to ID - his wife's firm - to take on further 'front of house' responsibility and help the team make inroads into the growing digital scene in Preston and its environs.

Mando has bade farewell to its strategic account director Jonny Wilde, who has left the Liverpool-based digital outfit to take on the same role at Preston's Interactive Dimension. He told How-Do that after 15 years in the industry - and a number of roles that have included an earlier stint at ID, a role at Motionlab and a position at McCann-i - he was looking forward to developing the team and providing "an unsaturated market with a great offering."

Wilde explained: "I arrived just before Christmas and (the team has) big plans for steady growth," something he said would be delivered by "giving exceptional levels of service underpinned by creative and development skills which can go toe-to-toe with the best, without the pretension of some agencies, or being hampered by city centre rates."

Of the move from Liverpool to Preston he noted: "There is an open space in Preston for a really good agency.

"(The digital scene) is not as saturated, and the brands are few and far between, as are the massive accounts, but there are a lot of talented individuals in Preston, and it's verve as a city is growing.

"Historically Preston hasn't had amazing kudos as a creative hub, but there have always been very capable agencies here... I think Motionlab made good progress in showing clients there are alternatives to the big city clique.

"I aim to build on that momentum. There are some great clients here, and others who ought to come here."

Wilde concluded by noting that he had left Mando on good terms and had "thoroughly enjoyed" his time there.
