The world of greetings cards has collided with online technology and social media sites, with the launch of Whamoosh.
Whamoosh claims to be a world first in the greetings card marketplace, offering customers the technology to add their face to that of characters on cards. WC's branding This is done online through a patented platform developed by the firm's co-founders, John Bickley and Alan Oliver, who almost sold their technology to Moonpig before deciding to go it alone. The pair brought in Bury's Wilson Cooke to develop the website and branding to market their novel idea to the consumer marketplace. Agency technical director John Millington explained more: "This has been a really exciting project to work on - the website has massive potential. "We started work on the brand image earlier this year and worked closely with the Whamoosh team to develop the new site. Bad cards a thing of the past? "The site is a bespoke e-commerce system with content management and some great features including, real-time card rendering, date reminder service, pre-pay credit functions, image store and import function from Facebook and Flickr accounts." He continued: "The integration of the FaceTec technology and artwork delivery direct to the printer was our main challenge. "Working with our in-house team of programmers and designers we have successfully delivered a web solution which is technically very advanced – providing a very intuitive customer journey." The agency is now working with Whamoosh to investigate the possibilities for taking the technology in to new markets beyond the greeting card sector. www.whamoosh.com www.wilson-cooke.co.uk Something to add?
