Events design and production company Rapport, which only formed in March, looks set to break the £1.5m turnover mark in its first year on the back of a resolutely green operating agenda.
The Rapport directors Rapport has capitalized on the growing interest in green issues and attracted clients that share the team’s environmental concerns – such as the RBS Group, Insider and LEX. Proving that it’s more than simply a cynical ‘green wash’ though, the agency has offset some 12 tons of CO2 in the past six months and operates its events to strictly energy efficient criteria (such as maximizing recycling opportunities and the use of public transport).Furthermore, in an attempt to give something back to their home city of Manchester, Rapport is contributing a share of its profits to five local charities this year and will be giving up one day to each of them in 2008 to help them reach their fund-raising objectives. Despite this apparent altruism however, Rapport is a business concerned with the bottom line, working towards its goal of reaching £1.5m turnover by the end of year one. Something that, seeing as it now stands at £1.3m, should be achievable. Rapport is run by directors Chris Teague and Abi Humayun. www.rapportevents.com Something to add?
