Stockport Council’s Marketing and Communications department has launched a new campaign to get people more healthy.
They’ll be distributing thousands of branded pedometers and they’re even moving into podcasting, with downloads available through their website. "Active Stockport is providing helpful advice about how to fit some form of exercise into our daily lives. By linking this with the parks and leisure facilities provided by the Council we can signpost local people to the ideal locations for a more active lifestyle," said head of marketing & communications Ian Ratcliffe, In Stockport 11.2% of children and 12.6% of adults are known to be obese, which is slightly below the national average.
