Manchester’s And Partners has released a new campaign for Warrington Borough Transport (WBT), which hinges on an innovative tree-planting initiative. The creative features the campaign line ‘our routes grow trees.’
WBT: branching out with And Partners
Throughout March, April and May, bus operator WBT has committed to planting and maintaining a tree in India, Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda for every Savercard that is purchased.

The initiative, developed by the agency in conjunction with Carbon Clear, helps to push the environmentally friendly image of public transport (a single bus does the work of 35 cars) and has already seen Savercard sales double for the month of March.

And Partners creative execution, seen here, is currently appearing on outdoor media, direct marketing, POS and in a dedicated PR push

Nigel Featham, MD of WBT, commented: "Through this initiative, we are demonstrating our long-term commitment to improving the environment in which we operate.

“We hope this project will also help to incentivise even more people to travel by bus, enabling all of us to help the environment, help communities around the world and help the local community by keeping another car off the road."

The agency is claiming that the 'Our routes grow trees' programme is the first of its kind for the public sector.
