Property developer Argent is developing a new 145,000 sq ft office development in Stevenson Square in Manchester’s ‘Northern Quarter’.
The Hive is being developed with creative companies as the primary tenants in mind.
Argent has launched a national design competition worth £5,000 to create an art installation for The Hive.
Chief executive David Partridge said: “We want to inspire designers working in all spheres, including design students, to create an art installation which will take the form of a solar shading device across the front elevation of the our building.
“This metalwork will act as a brise soleil, helping to reduce internal solar gains as well as tie the building into the character of its creative surroundings. We believe this is a once in a life time opportunity to influence the development of the Northern Quarter and to leave a permanent mark on an important part of Manchester.”
The closing date for entries is 22 June and further info can be found at www.thehivemanchester.co.uk
