BDH has emerged as the UK’s sole regional representative at this year’s Film Lions at Cannes. BDH’s parent company TBWA has been shortlisted for a further three campaigns.
The ad was a ‘one-off’ which playfully followed the creative lead on an earlier Sony Bravia LCD colour ad produced by London agency Fallon. That ad showcased a startling display of paints being thrown across a landscape. The Wickes ad followed this intro but once the action had died down, then revealed a can of Wickes Paint & Varnish Stripper on the floor.
Polly Shute, brand director at Wickes said “The ad demonstrated the brand essence of Wickes and BDH\TBWA spotted a priceless opportunity to communicate to our customers in a relevant and humorous way.”
Tom Richards and Chris Lear of BDH created the ad.
