It appears as though Nigel Sarbutts’ Communiqué PR is continuing to prove the cynics wrong, with the revelation that the team looks to have picked up a major piece of business from the NHS.
At the time of writing details of the account were scarce, but from what How-Do can extrapolate from conversations with members of the PR industry it would seem to be Communiqué’s biggest win during Sarbutts’ reign. It’s known that two to three months ago the NHS (North West) wrote to approximately 30 firms from throughout the region with an invitation to tender for a brief targeting both internal and external stakeholders. From that initial contact a shortlist of five were invited to pitch. After that word of the business went cold... until now. It seems that Communiqué was officially appointed two to three weeks ago, but due to a confidentiality clause (or similar) hasn’t been able to announce news of the win. When contacted by How-Do nobody at the agency was willing to confirm or deny anything, but word is gradually leaking out that it was indeed Sarbutts’ team that scooped the prize. One industry insider commented: “We knew that the invitation had gone round to all of the major agencies and a lot of them applied to pitch. If it is Communiqué that have picked it up they’re looking at a very wide ranging comms task and a substantial piece of business.” The win continues a purple patch for the agency, which last week picked up Best Western Hotels and the week before landed work through parent company Burson Marstellar’s Siemens brief. www.communiquepr.co.uk
