The University of Cumbria, the UK’s ‘newest’ University, which opens its doors in the forthcoming academic year, is to receive PR support from the Manchester office of national PR agency EURO RSCG BISS LANCASTER.
The new University has been created through a merger of St Martins College, Cumbria Institute of the Arts and the Cumbrian campuses of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
Biss Lancaster has been appointed on a sub contracted basis for nine months by Scottish advertising agency The Bridge, which won the earlier £5m tender for the lead agency and communications work from the University.
The Bridge spoke to a number of regional agencies before it recommended Biss Lancaster to its client.
Martyn Spence, head of marketing recruitment and communication at the University said “Biss Lancaster will provide support and strategic counsel alongside our internal team. We are having a busy year in the run up to the launch of the University of Cumbria and we need to ensure both the regional and national media are aware of our capabilities.”
