The Lowry will be hosting a new exhibition on advertising from January, which has been curated by BJL.
The 3 month Art in Advertising installation comes as the venue celebrates 10 years at Salford Quays. BJL told How-Do that it's taken 6 months of planning at the agency and it will feature an interactive gallery, showcasing the different mediums of advertising. “We’ve worked with The Lowry for 8 years now and wanted to celebrate their birthday and our collaboration with something special,” explained Jackie Holt, partner at BJL. “What we want to do is have some fun, and hopefully inspire people about the medium of advertising, showcasing what a truly creative industry we work in. It’s all been about doom and gloom these past couple of years and this has given us a great opportunity to work with our clients to provide different interpretations of art. Creating art installations that have association with our clients’ brands will also be a key part of the journey we take visitors on.” BJL tells us that the exhibition will also include on-site workshops where creatives will “demonstrate and demystify” the process of creativity, with the ultimate aim of showing that “advertising is indeed a great work of art.” Something to add?
