The director of a Manchester based marketing agency is heading off to East Peru to ‘do a Bruce Parry’ and go native with the Ashaninka tribe.
This will see him, amongst other things, taking the opportunity to enjoy a nice ‘spit beer’ or two.
Lee Herbert from Blue Monkey is heading to the central Amazon and meeting his tribal hosts on behalf of Tropicana and environmental group Cool Earth.
He will spend two weeks with the Ashaninkas creating video footage, pictures and stories for both the organisation’s websites.
This content will support a 12-month on pack promotion for Tropicana in the USA, which enables consumers to preserve 100 square feet of rainforest for each carton of juice they purchase.
Herbert said of the adventure: “By working in association with Cool Earth and Tropicana we can really make a difference.
“There are a lot of brands at the moment swinging towards this type of ethical and socially responsible promotion, which is good news for all.”
Herbert, who will live in the open with the tribe and forsake Tropicana for the aforementioned ale, will also meet the Peruvian Environment Minister in Lima to discuss environmental issues.
Blue Monkey appears to be as committed to the rainforest as it clients and currently purchases an acre of endangered area for every client it works with.
