Brazen opts for talent show approach to let talent show in ‘Brazen’s Got Talent’ | Print |  Email to a friend
Tuesday, 13 May 2008
Consumer PR agency Brazen is adding a topical twist (one that Peter Kay would be proud of) to its latest graduate open day in an effort to secure the cream of the current university crop.

The agency is branding its latest recruitment day, which takes place on Friday, ‘Brazen’s Got Talent.’

Consumer PR agency Brazen is adding a topical twist (one that Peter Kay would be proud of) to its latest graduate open day in an effort to secure the cream of the current university crop.
A tough graduation awaits
TV addicts will be able to glean from the name that the agency is basing the format of the day on the popular ITV Ant and Dec show Britain’s Got Talent.

As such each of the aspiring PRs visiting the agency will be called upon to impress a panel made up of MD Rick Guttridge, creative director Gary Bramwell and senior account director Peter Burling (which one’s Simon Cowell you ask? Answers on a comment form please…).

The candidates that impress the trio with their “creativity, planning skills and knowledge of today’s traditional and digital media” will be asked back to work on live Brazen campaigns for one week.

From this batch two lucky contenders will be singled out for full-time enrolment in the firm’s graduate trainee scheme.

Bramwell said of the fresh recruitment approach: “Brazen’s Got Talent is our way of giving everyone the opportunity to meet us and prove they can fit into Brazen’s creative culture.

“We are looking for the brightest young talent to join us and help drive our creative reputation in their very own Brazen way.”

Naff, arrogant, nonsense.

Graduates - I beg you - go else where!!!

If Brazen's got talent - why are they resorting to this?

Tacky side of wacky if you ask me.

Anyway, should it not be 'Brazen has Talent'? Sorry...

i would rather stab my own eyes out than take part in this

not 'fresh'

just ludicrous

It's a no from me - judging by your comment I think you've missed the whole point - go back to bed bright spark.

And seriously......"tacky side of wacky"?
I was just nearly sick in my own mouth.

Same old dull comments from everyone about Brazen then? Surprise surprise!

If you are a graduate looking for a job in PR, go to Brazen............everyone will want to be you and will be extremely jealous of your amazing career.

this is a brilliant idea by brazen. they get to sort out the wheat from the chaff so all the other agencies get the pick of the REALLY GOOD graduates.
 7 By Dave B, on 13-05-2008 12:51
Amazing! Maybe the graduates will come up with amazing, fresh ideas like your ‘Danielle Lloyd sells dog burgers’ campaign. Which celeb have you lined up next? Josef Fritzl?

Ha - spot on Dave B.

This is going to attract morons who want to get in to PR for all the wrong reasons.

Why can't they just head hunt like every one else?!
 9 By Chocolate Bath, on 13-05-2008 13:48
Dave B - you sound hilarious, we should go for a drink sometime.

They've got you lot talking with this, they'll get the graduates talking too.

Brazen are showing that they know how to generate publicity here.

Job done.

They'll be loving this, I guarantee it.

Oh Jerry. You’ve got it wrong, mate. People aren’t talking about them because they're so good at generating heat. It’s because their so creatively bankrupt that they have to scrape the bottom of the reality TV barrel (again!)

Yasmine,

I don't think students get 'head hunted' do they, that tends to be for senior people who have already carved a reputation for themselves?
 13 By Yasmine, on 13-05-2008 15:33
Fair do's... i did think that post-comment-posting actually.

Anyhoo - it's a naff idea. Maybe How Do should put it to the vote?

And please don't take the p out of my name. Ta.

Shall we have a whip-round and collect enough for them to take out an classified ad? Lol.

Come on guys, lighten up - the world would be boring without Brazen :-)
 15 By D. Rose, on 13-05-2008 15:50
Anyone, at any level ,with talent can be head hunted. Companies headhunt quality graduates all the time.
 16 By ab, on 13-05-2008 19:52
i like brazen. just not this idea

does that make me bad?

*runs and hides*

Three guys in a profession with a well-above-average representation of women, judging the "talent" from a collection of young graduates ........

Will they be interested in the ones that want to make the world a better place?
