Manchester-based Bright Digital has won a 12 month contract from Etisalat, following work at the Gitex IT and communications conference in the Middle East.
Gitex 2009 The technology marketing agency was originally brought in by telecoms company Etisalat to produce content for its stand at the event. It was tasked with transforming 56 presentations into content for interactive pods themed as Work, Life and Play. “Gitex is one of the most important shows in our calendar, where companies make major announcements to the Middle Eastern market. It is vital that any presence at the event is clear and stands out,” explained Haitham Al-Kharusi, vice president/ marketing communication for Etisalat. “We were delighted with the results and our stand was busy throughout the show with both business and consumer visitors. We even welcomed Sheikh Mohammed on the stand, who used the interactive kiosks with Bright Digital’s content.” Bright Digital also turned to social networks to add marketing support: “We introduced a series of social media activities to keep show delegates updated with what was happening on the stand,” said Roberto Simi, director at Bright Digital. “We asked delegates to put forward questions via Twitter for the Etisalat product managers, which we then used for a blog. It worked really well and fittted perfectly with the show’s atmosphere.” Recently Etisalat signed a 3-year sponsorship deal with Manchester City to be its telecoms partner. Something to add?
