Brother UK, which last week appointed Code (much to the chagrin of Epson no doubt), has consolidated its offline advertising into incumbent agency Clear Marketing.
Clear was appointed to Brother’s all-Manchester roster of agencies last year, releasing two well-received campaigns for the brand’s core product range of mono and colour printers. Clear for take off on ad account In doing so it appears as if the firm undermined the position of fellow incumbent TBWA\Manchester, which now appears to have lost its position on the roster. A move which follows on from the surprisingly low-key departure of long-standing Brother UK marketing chief Chris Hind late last year. The new sales and marketing director at the firm is Phil Jones, and he is convinced of Clear’s suitability for the task in hand. He commented: “Brother is strengthening its communications to meet new challenges in a very competitive, product-driven market and to grow market share, particularly in the colour printer sector; and we’ve chosen a quartet of Manchester partners to deliver harder hitting campaigns targeting business and trade communities. “Clear Marketing met our objectives for strategy-driven creativity, which will give us stand out in a cluttered marketplace. “A key focus of future marketing will be to grow the SME and home-worker market, where we see huge growth potential, as well as to maintain our strong brand reputation among IT buyers, who are driven by ease of installation and specification.” The remainder of the quartet mentioned by Jones is City Press, for PR, and Mediavest for the planning and buying brief. www.clearmarketing.co.uk www.brother.co.uk Something to add?
