In terms of ringers Gyro Manchester couldn’t have done much better…
The Salford-based agency sneaked ex-Manchester United and England captain Bryan Robson into their ‘friendly’ squad for the annual inter-network kickabout that took place last week. Robson: on the losing side And they still got pummelled.Robson, gracing the field for the ‘rest of Europe’ team against the London branch of Gyro, was a star – as you’d expect - for the team, but still couldn’t make up for the startling ineptitude of Danny Turnbull, the Gyro Manchester boss (sorry Danny! Ed). In a pique of (we believe) uncharacteristic lack of focus and, well, quite terrible footballing skills, Turnbull scored not one but two own goals, contributing quite substantially to London’s eventual 6-3 victory. Robson, a current client of Gyro Manchester, was praised by Turnbull, who commented: “Having Robbo on our side was a much appreciated morale boost – but clearly you can cancel out one amazing player with ten not-so-good ones!” Silky (delegation of blame) skills from the boss there. The game took place on the sodden fields of Chorlton and West Didsbury AFC football ground and continues Gyro’s fine sporting tradition – the agency sponsors athletes regularly and has contributed £100k in time and services to Sports Aid over the years. www.gyrointernational.com Something to add?
