As well as the 2009 team competition, they will also handle the media for the individual championships in 2010 in Manchester.

Taking place at the Echo Arena in February, it’s the first time the two events have been split.

For the last 3 years, Manchester has been home to the English National Badminton Championships, which take place, somewhat bizarrely in the Velodrome.

"In addition to targeting the regional press we will be looking to secure coverage in the higher circulation consumer titles as well as national newspapers both in the UK and across Europe, to ensure badminton gets the profile it deserves as the Olympic Games in London draws ever closer," said Alison Forth, director of Capitalize.
