International Sports Management, whose clients include golfers Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, has bought Rule 1.02 Marketing, a marketing consultancy based in New Jersey.
The company, with further offices in India, South Africa and Florida, was set up in 1989 in Rostherne in Cheshire by Chandler, a former European Tour golfer.
Chandler is also a judge at the inaugural Northern Sports Awards.
The new business will be rebranded as ISM USA and is understood to be the first of a number of new initiatives planned by ISM following new investment the company last year by two of the founders of broadcaster Setanta.
In a statement Chandler said: “This is an ideal opportunity for us to broaden our horizons.
“We will now have the chance to extend our sponsorship opportunities as well as look into the possibility of managing American sportsmen and events.”
