The Co-operative Insurance has appointed MC2 to manage a new general insurance consumer media relations campaign.

It is the first time in several years that the CIS has appointed an external agency. MC2 will be working alongside the CIS’ in-house comms team.

No other agencies were involved in the process.

The Co-operative Insurance has appointed MC2 to manage a new general insurance consumer media relations campaign.
Bowker
Duncan Bowker, media relations manager at the CIS told How-Do that “We’d been working with MC2 on other media matters since they’d been involved with earlier pitches for the Bank’s PR business.

"But as we learnt more about the agency’s new and specific financial offering , we felt no need to look elsewhere.”
Bowker said there was no time period attached to the new contract – it would simply be on-going.

MC2 will be overseeing a consumer-focused PR campaign concentrating on the group’s general insurance products and services which include including car and home insurance, unit trusts, investments, pensions and life insurance.
National and regional print and broadcast media will be main targets.

Sarah Lindgreen, who leads MC2’s financial PR offering added that: “We will be building on The Co-operative Insurance’s existing reputation for providing market leading products and services and providing customers with the peace of mind associated with a well trusted brand.”
