CTI Digital trio launch digital agency RedMeat

CTI Digital’s business development manager, Tim Edwards, creative director, Rik Hopkinson and chief executive, Nick Rhind have formed a new digital creative agency aimed at small and medium sized companies.

RedMeat has been set up to “deliver affordable, bespoke websites” without using templates, where the trio believes there is a gap in the market.

Rhind will act as a a strategic advisor for the project, but won’t be involved in its day-to-day management, while Edwards and Hopkinson will oversee its growth.

“We believe that small and medium businesses shouldn’t have to compromise on their web presence. Template designs will NEVER meet every need that a client has. Now they never have to compromise to keep the costs down, they can have a bespoke CMS or ecommerce design that won’t break the bank,” said Edwards.

They expect the agency to reach a £500k turnover by the end of  year one and they’ve already delivered projects for Australian clothes retailer, Popetto, American Golf Disc manufacturer, Disc Wing and menswear brand Urban Alpha.

“We believe that a bespoke design and branding can help SMEs and start-ups differentiate themselves from the competition. Amplifying brand development efforts through consistent typography, user experience, messaging and creatives,” added Hopkinson.

Skeptik

Quoting you:

"Is this a precursor to an announcement of poor 2011 trading results I wonder..."

Surely that is ample evidence of being ill informed? As to your opinion, it seems to have little value other than as vaguely amusing trolling.

Shouldn't 'bacon' and 'rhind' be more closely aligned?

Not "feisty", grandad - I said "fitey". FFS!

I don't think it's ill-informed at all Simon, I think it's called 'having an opinion'. Of which we are all allowed one. Last time I checked anyway.

Indeed it is a plan. However I only said that it's a plan that many other web agencies are already doing.

Like I say, my opinion. Wow, everyone is very defensive! I feel sorry for poor 'Bacon' myself!

This website is so much more enjoyable when it gets feisty; much better than the tedious mutual backslapping that usually passes for comment.

How about fettling the comments into proper discussion threads and getting some more mudslinging going on here - it would do wonders for your pageviews.

where have I 'rubbished' anything lol!? this is so paranoid! i only asked if the two companies were the same!

Just happened to read these comments after I viewed the article about Redmeat (which sounds like a completely logical solution to me) and I think Bacon's efforts to rubbish both CTI and Redmeat have merely provided Nick Rhind with a platform to prove how and why it is a good idea and offer some more information.
And the website looks absolutely fantastic in my humble opinion.

Wow calm down. I wasn't making any 'sniping accusations'! and where on earth was my comment 'without foundation'!

You're right Bacon. Did Discuss a websavestheday. The concept showed cti was not geared for that type of work and scrapped it as although we did some great work the individual profits were not there compared to our base model.

2 years on and a separate company it does work. Though I don't run it I'm only an adviser. Also the technologies have matured enough to enable the model to work well with more cloud based solutions enabling svto hit a lower entry barrier. We work around our clients budgets as much as we can.

Anyway there's your question answered. I suggest though you post as yourself for me to take any of the comments seriously. It's quiet easy to hide behind a sudo name and make snipping accusations with no foundation or having been more successful yourself.

I'm a little surprised at Skeptik's rather ill informed comments. Just about anyone in the industry is aware how extremely well CTI are doing. We work with them on the odd occasion so we get to see something of their growth which is clearly impressive. It doesn't seem to be too much of a leap to understand that Redmeat exists to supply a market that CTI isn't necessarily geared to respond to. Sounds like a decent plan to me.
