With the floods of last summer retreating from the nation’s consciousness the Environment Agency is looking to Manchester’s Vivid to raise awareness (ahead of water levels) and promote its free Floodline Direct service.
Apparently there are 13 key danger areas throughout the North West region that are especially susceptible to flooding, and the Agency is keen to heighten the awareness of those living in the zones prior to increased rainfall later in the year. A real danger in the North West As a result Vivid has been brought in to launch a campaign in September that will focus on outdoor and radio work and draw people’s attention to the Floodline service - which provides up to the minute text alerts and information.MD Rachel Emson told How-Do that the work would centre on creative that is “simple and to the point with a strong call to action” and comes on the back of numerous successful campaigns the firm has produced for the Agency (here Emson mentioned Vivid’s Fresh award-winning Scum Trash Vermin campaign targeting illegal fly-tipping). In other news at the agency the team has also been signed up by home electronics firm Imetec to market its NutriHeat haircare range. Vivid will produce a national monthly and weekly press campaign for the brand, set to appear across 12 high profile women’s magazines in the space of the next few weeks. The range is endorsed by Trevor Sorbie, the four times British hairdresser of the year. Vivid has previous experience in the health and beauty sector having enjoyed a long relationship with the Slendertone brand. Mediacom North will handle the planning and buying task for the NutriCare push. www.environment-agency.gov.uk www.viv-id.co.uk
