Connectpoint PR has consolidated its position with Holidaybreak plc, after coming through a four-way pitch to score the brief for Eurocamp’s PR account.
Connectpoint, part of the Hasgrove conglomerate, has worked for the past three years on Eurocamp’s sister, specialist brand Keycamp. Connectpoint: Camping it up Between them Keycamp and Eurocamp dominate the European camping sector, giving them, and now Connectpoint, huge leverage in the marketplace. It will now be the agency’s job to exploit this position of authority, supporting each brand individually, but also moving them closer together with joint initiatives designed to alter the perceptions of ‘camping’ holidays on the continent. This will be achieved through a mixture of on and offline strategies, as well as brand consultation work. Robin Parry, Holidaybreak’s Camping Division deputy MD, said of the decision to appoint Connectpoint: “We set a challenge for all the agencies to demonstrate their understanding of our sector, but more importantly their ability to create commercial cut through by identifying fresh, innovative sector initiatives where Eurocamp and Keycamp could derive benefit.” He noted that his new agency’s response to the task “ set them apart.” Connectpoint will now begin working on next summer’s activity in October, in preparation for a major push in January 2009. www.connectpointpr.co.uk Something to add?
