Feather Brooksbank has brokered a £1m plus sponsorship of GMTV’s LK Today – fronted by Lorraine Kelly – for clothes retailer Matalan.

Sponsorship of the show will start on 21 April and is expected to last for nine months.

The Manchester agency said that LK Today “delivers fantastic coverage and audience fit with Matalan’s core ‘Housewives with kids’ target audience”.

In addition to the LK Today show, Matalan will also be sponsoring three of GMTV’s “One Minute TV” fashion segments.

The deal also includes a “substantial” online presence in the LK Today section of the GM.TV website and a new dedicated microsite within LK Today.

Rachel Scott, marketing controller at Skelmersdale-based Matalan: “We are delighted with this sponsorship as LK Today offers a strong, relevant and positive fit with the Matalan brand and product range and Lorraine Kelly has a great appeal amongst our core target audience of mums.

“It has been over a year since Matalan were last on TV and we feel this targeted sponsorship is a great way to return to this medium. It will also give us a continual advertising presence which will allow us to display our range across the whole year.”
