Thursday, 14 June 2007
AIM listed Felix Group has appointed RMS to handle its consumer PR account which focuses on the company’s digital retail product, MAX BOX.

Felix, based in Mere Cheshire floated on AIM in March 2004 and has a current market capitalisation of £15m.

All the software and development programmes used in Max Box have been developed in house by Felix with production contracted out to a UK manufacturer.

MAX BOX was launched at the trade show ATEI in London last year. MAX BOX is a development of Felix’s earlier ‘Everyone’s a Winner’ initiative. Everyone's A Winner is a sales promotion channel for the retail and leisure industry with data collection capacity.

Over 100 of the kiosks are now situated across the UK in a variety of locations including 20 Odeon cinemas, two army barracks, universities, petrol stations and retailers.

MAX BOX offers sales promotions for clients such as B&Q, PC World, Boots, M&S and Woolworths together with Leisure Vouchers which can be redeemed at Beefeater, David Lloyd, Pizza Hut, Café Rouge, Thomas Cook, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Hoseasons and Butlins.

Felix is also keen to target outsourcing companies which manage companies’ work places and it is also in early stage discussions with potential US distributors about rolling MAX BOX out Stateside.

RMS was appointed without a pitch.

Andy Egan, chief executive of Felix Group plc, said: “We’ve finished trialling our product and are now looking to raise consumer awareness and understanding of MAX BOX so that our customers know how and why to engage with the kiosk as soon as they see it.

This consumer engagement will help to drive demand for MAX BOX across the UK and internationally. Effective public relations is a key component of our business strategy and we selected RMS PR because of the team’s understanding of our requirements combined with their creativity and evident empathy with the brand.”

Peter Davies of RMS said: “Felix Group plc fits our growing portfolio of listed clients who need to hammer home their core messages to decision makers, shareholders and consumers. It’s a great business to work with and we are looking forward to getting tangible results that will provide commercial benefit.”

Felix has separately been working with Holborn in London for its financial PR but a spokesperson told How-Do that contract has now ceased and the company has no immediate plans to replace Holborn.
