Fido has consolidated its relationship with Manchester Art Gallery, after being appointed to promote the new exhibition Green Drops and Moonsquirters: The Utterly Imaginative World of Lauren Child.
Child's play at MAG The agency has previously worked with MAG on a number of family-focused events, including 2006’s Miffy, and Kylie – The Exhibition, which was one of the venue’s most popular attractions last year. For the new show, which opens in June, Fido will aim to promote the first ever exhibition of Child’s popular children’s books to both the national and regional media. Jenny Beard, communications manager at the Gallery, is convinced the agency can rise to the task, as she commented that the team had “delivered brilliant coverage for us in the past.” Child, for the uninitiated, is best known for her characters Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean. A former artists assistant for Damien Hirst, she moved across to children’s literature and has succeeded by combining irreverent stories with drawing, collages and photography. The exhibition will feature a series of playhouses based around her most popular characters, over thirty original illustrations and a selection of 3D sets and dolls house furniture created for The Princess and the Pea. Nancy Collantine, owner of Fido, said of the task in hand: “We will use the popularity of Lauren’s books, the interactive elements of the exhibition and the exclusivity of the exhibition launch to promote it on a national level.” www.trustfido.co.uk Something to add?
