Manchester PR and marketing consultancy, Made in Manchester, has won the contract to run Finnair’s UK public relations.
The airline operates out of Manchester and Heathrow and runs several flights a day to Helsinki and connections to the Far East.
Flying high "We are delighted to be looking after Finnair on a national level reinforcing what we all know, not all national pr has to come from London," said pr director, Sarah Gormley.
"I’ve worked with Finnair previously advising them on their public relations efforts in the North West so it’s fair to say I’m over the moon that they have chosen us to handle their communications on a much larger scale."
The contract runs until at least August 2009 and they will be working alongside the company’s global PR agency, Miltton Oy. "Made in Manchester demonstrated to us their flair for handling targeted PR campaigns and in working with clients with a Far Eastern focus, this made them the obvious choice to manage our UK public relations going forward," added Tomi Hanninen, UK sales director for Finnair. Their brief will be to concentrate on raising the profile of the carrier and their links to the Far East, very similar to the brief they gave to previous incumbents Weber Shandwick. Something to add?
