First Manchester has appointed Citypress to work alongside its in-house marketing team in the role of PR advisor from next month onwards.
 CP: on the buses The agency, which is based in the city’s Northern Quarter, will be charged with helping First’s team communicate the benefits of bus transport to the wider public, while showcasing the firm’s investment in new vehicles.In doing so they will be supporting a concern that carries approximately 100 million passengers each year on 190 local bus routes in Greater Manchester. The firm employs 2,400 people and is investing some £35 million over the next two years to supplement its fleet with 200 new double deckers (that’s buses not chocolate bars, Ed). Citypress has a growing specialism in the travel sector and currently works with names including Co-operative Travel, Shearings Holidays and Cross Country Trains. Earlier this year First Group (the parent of First Manchester) selected cia:mediaedge Manchester to handle its entire £10m media planning and buying brief. www.citypress.co.uk Something to add?
