Last time ghd and TBWA\Manchester teamed up for a television ad, it got banned by ad industry watchdog the ASA.
See the light The troublesome twosome are back again this month and have wisely steered clear of religious symbolism and stuck to sex.
Filmed in South Africa with 4 models, the production team closed a number of major roads to do the shoot, which was directed by David Edwards. Stylist Carly Brook (Kylie, Vivenne Westwood) was on-hand to provide the look. The campaign, with the tag-line "See the light" (okay so there may be some religious symbolism), will be aired in the UK and Australia. Ghd are also sponsoring Lipstick Jungle, the successor to Sex and the City.
"Our customers go to great lengths to tell us that ghd has changed their lives. The new campaign celebrates this miracle and invites women to join the new religion for hair," said group marketing director for ghd, Sarah Lambley. Behind the scenes footage is available on the website ghdhair.com. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
