How-Do’ers that tune into Channel 4 this Thursday should be able to get an eyeful of the latest work from Manchester-based design team Glorious Creative.
The agency has been working with wine critic Monty Waldin on the C4 series, Chateau Monty, which follows his endeavours to make a new biodynamic wine in France. Glorious stuff However, rather than picking grapes and dragging the plough that the presenter favours over machine harvesting and fertilisers, the team has been brought in to design the label for Waldin’s wine (also christened Chateau Monty).Design director Mark Ross said of the task: “It was great fun to do, and Monty seemed like a jolly good chap. He spent quite a bit of time scrutinising our concepts. “He seemed to appreciate the fact that we’d worked with leading whisky brands like Laphroaig and Ballantine’s along with various beer brands, although never a wine label. “It was really interesting. We believe we got to the heart of Monty’s wine-making process through different label treatments.” Glorious won the task in the face of competition from four design teams from London and has been working on the show alongside animation firm Doodledo Motion, also from Manchester. The show can be seen at 8.30pm on Channel 4 this Thursday. www.gloriouscreative.co.uk Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
