Hadrian's Wall to be built up by Osprey | Print |  Email to a friend
Thursday, 31 July 2008
Cumbria's Osprey Communications has won the PR contract for one of the UK's most iconic heritage sites, Hadrian's Wall.

The award winning team has been brought on to provide PR support for Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd, a not for profit company that markets and protects the Roman World Heritage Site and the area it passes through.

Cumbria’s Osprey Communications has won the PR contract for one of the UK’s most iconic heritage sites, Hadrian’s Wall.
The wall in all its glory
This will chiefly entail raising the profile of 'Hadrian's Wall Country' as a visitor destination, promoting not just the wall itself but also the local attractions, produce, food and drink and accommodation.

Osprey MD Paul Gardner was delighted with the high-profile win, noting: "Hadrian's Wall is one of the important historic sites in Britain. Research shows that it is also one of the places the public most want to visit.

"Our role will be to show people just how much the area has to offer. As well as the Roman sites there's also some of the most stunning scenery in England, pretty villages, market towns, castles and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.

"We will also be helping Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd to give people a better understanding of the organisation's wide-ranging role."

Hadrian's Wall Country covers an area 10 miles to the north and south of the line of the Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site and extends for 150 miles from Arbeia on Tyneside down the Cumbrian coast to Ravenglass.

The win marks further a regional/tourism success for Osprey, which already handles the PR for the Forestry Commission in the North West and the West Midlands, regional retailer Booths, Made In Cumbria and English Lakes Hotels.
