Frozen food company Iceland has rejected growing claims that it will not be renewing its contract with Kerry Katona when the current contract lapses this spring.
The ad campaign featuring the former Atomic Kitten and ‘I’m a Celebrity star’ was rated in a recent industry poll as being among the worst cringe-making ads of 2007. Katona’s difficulties with cocaine, smoking and drinking have also been widely reported in the press and it is these issues which are more likely to be at the root of any genuine contract stalling.
The TV ads, produced Tom Reddy Advertising in Manchester, were also ranked as delivering some substantially high recall figures.
A spokesperson for Iceland insisted the North Wales-based company and Katona were still in meaningful negotiations.
