A new agency is set to be unveiled in Manchester, bringing together a high profile creative director, account director and managing director from separate regional firms. The team apparently has two ‘very large’ accounts lined up.
If's previous food brand experience
If Creative is being billed as an advertising, brand and digital firm, that will offer creative solutions across a whole gamut of mediums. Although it is believed that office leases are yet to be signed, it looks set to be based in central Manchester.
The creative director in question is David Milligan-Croft, last seen in a full time position as the CD of Yorkshire’s Propaganda (a position he subsequently left to go freelance).
He is a veteran of the agency world – having worked for BBDO, DDB, TBWA, McCann’s, O&M, Publicis and Chemistry Dublin – and has over 100 industry awards to his name. As readers may expect from his past employer list, he also has experience with some of the world’s leading brands, including McDonald’s, Smirnoff, Audi and Carlsberg.
A spokesperson for the agency told How-Do that his reputation would be a major draw when seeking out prospective clients.
Millgan-Croft is joined at If by Fiona Lynch, currently an account director at Sale’s AWA and prior to that a director of MAP (which merged into AWA several years ago). How-Do readers that recall the Marketeer magazine may remember that Lynch won its first ever Suit Awards gong for ‘account manager of the year’.
The third member of the team – which will be looking to officially start trading at the end of January – is yet to be revealed, but it is known that he is a respected figure on the Manchester digital scene.
The spokesperson for the agency was reluctant to give further details about the launch, but did disclose that there were two “very large” accounts (one apparently a food brand) already signed up. These would apparently “pay the bills for the first three to six months” allowing the team to get on with building the new entity.
They also noted that the three had known and respected one another professionally for some time and shared “a common approach to the kind of work we’re interested in.”
