Design agency Ingenious has come through a three-way pitch to get the chance to create a ‘Horrible Histories’ themed exhibition for the Imperial War Museum North. It is believed the firm beat True North and Hemisphere to win the task.
The appointment was made by a client panel that included Terry Deary, author of the ‘Horrible Histories’ titles, publisher Scholastic Children’s Books and the IWMN itself. Ingenious will now be charged with crafting the exhibition to communicate the facts about the First World War to a young audience that may be unfamiliar with the conflict. Agency MD Paul Hartley commented: “It's such a fantastic opportunity for us to work with the team at IWM North, plus of course Terry Deary and publisher Scholastic, on such an exciting and important project." He added: "Every time we pitch for an IWM North project we're up against some great agencies, and it's been a real challenge for us to compete against such prestigious company." Ingenious’ exhibition will open in May 2008, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the conclusion of the war. The team has previously worked on the ‘Life and Freedom’ exhibition, which took place at the IWMN last year. www.ingeniouscreative.com
